Closing cashless trainingUganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) will be one of the beneficiaries from the 25m USD World Bank Competitiveness and Enterprise Development Project.

Following successful negotiations between UWA and World Bank, UWA was allocated a total of 7,991,950 USD under Tourism Competitiveness development.

The support will help UWA to acquire professional tour buses which will promote domestic tourism by transporting visitor groups to the national parks at friendly rates, the roll out of the smart card(cashless) card (cashless system),fleet management, Integrated Finance management and purchase of tourism equipment.

Among the equipment earmarked for purchase are three boats to benefit Lake Mburo, Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Parks. Other equipment to be purchased is binoculars to boost avi-tourism (birding).The project support will also boost marketing through branding and signage.
