Wildlife in Kibale National Park will have a breathing space following the eventual arrest of George Kisembo of Kahondo village,Busiriba sub county in Kamwenge district who has been terrorizing the protected area.

Led by the Assistant Warden Law enforcement together with the police and Local Council 1 Chairman of the village, the UWA staff acting on a tip off went and effected his arrest in his home on 26th June 2013. On searching his house the staff recovered 06 metallic Wire snares, 06 Nylon Snares, One hunting Net, a Pole from the Park and (1½ Kgs) of Ivory.

Kisembo ,a notorious Elephant Poacher has been eluding arrest until his 40 days ran out. Ironically, Kisembo refers to himself as a pastor whose luck ran out as he looked for his ivory market when concerned citizens leaked the information to authorities. The suspect was taken has been handed over to Iruhura Police post for safe custody, further investigations and eventual prosecution.
