The procurement of state of the art game viewing vehicles with stretched wheel base cabins ,half cut doors and convertible canvas top will certainly make both day and night game drives a completely new experience in the UWA managed protected areas.

We can now comfortably declare that a unique product known as Night game drives is another addition to the several innovations by UWA and visitors cannot wait to sight nocturnal animals and birds at a close range.

The largely successful Big Birding events climaxing into the Big Birding Festival on October 26,2013 further raised the profile of Uganda as a prime birding destination and the resolve by UWA to develop birding as a key tourism product.

During the month, UWA also participated in the high profile Kampala festival showcasing her unique attractions and services. The comprehensive repairs and servicing of the Paraa ferry in Murchison Falls National Park, a new baby gorilla born in Nyakagezi group and the interception of huge quantities of ivory by the law enforcement staff were all good news for tourism and conservation.

We congratulate the Miss Tourism Uganda and are committed to supporting her efforts in marketing Uganda as a country gifted by nature locally and internationally and finally call upon everybody to utilize this opportunity of the discounted gorilla tracking permit rates in November to visit our coveted mountain gorillas in Bwindi and Nyakagezi national parks.
