MIKE (Monitoring Illegal Killing of Elephants) subregional support office for East Africa Mr. Edison Nuwamanya handing over some GPS (Global Positioning System) units to UWA's Chief Conservation Area Manager to assist rangers in recording data on Wildlife and illegal acitivies in the Parks. MIKE has been supporting UWA to monitor the illegal killing of Elephants.

Staff of Uganda Wildlife Authority in Murchison Falls Conservation Area (MFCA) are battling a herd of elephants that crossed from Nimule National Park in South Sudan last Friday into Uganda in the villages of Pagirinya and Mukoyoro in Adjumani District. The villages which lie in the wildlife corridor are remote and sparsely populated.
